A GYM
WITH A
SPINE.

Twelve years on the same block. A coaching staff that didn't turn over. A philosophy you can write on a napkin and still defend.

THE LONG STORY

Built in a garage.
Still built.

StrongFit started in 2014 because the founders couldn't find a gym that took them seriously. Either too commercial — globo gyms with no coaches on the floor — or too cultish: a single methodology, no nuance.

We opened with a stupid amount of equipment in 1,800 square feet and one promise: every minute you train here will be coached by someone who actually wants to be coaching.

Twelve years and one move later, that's still the promise. The space is bigger, the rings are real, the coaching staff makes a real living. The principle hasn't changed.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Four things.

If you've worked with us for more than three sessions, you've heard a coach say one of these. We mean them.

01 / 04
No Slogans Without Programming
Catchy on the wall, vague in the workout. We write programs, not slogans. If a coach says "intensity," they can show you the percentage.
02 / 04
Coached, Always
No empty-floor sessions, no "free-styling on the bag" hours. If you're in the room, someone is coaching.
03 / 04
Honest Numbers
We track real PRs and we tell you when one isn't real. No vanity metrics, no leaderboard theater.
04 / 04
Bodies Built To Last
Twelve-week cycles, mandatory deloads, mobility woven in. We want you training in 2046, not setting a PR you can't walk away from.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Honest FAQ.

The questions every new member asks us in the first phone call. Same answers we give them.

Yes. Around 40% of new members have never lifted a barbell before. Your coach starts with a movement screen, then a Level-1 cycle that builds the basics. You will not be thrown into a heavy session on day one.
Yes, freeze for up to one month. Annual programs carry a $30 freeze fee; month-to-month does not. Call the front desk to set it up.
Month-to-month: 30 days' written notice. Annual: canceling early forfeits any remaining sessions on the program. Call the front desk to start the process.
Refunds are not offered outside two exceptions: moving out of the area or a medical issue that prevents training. Both require documentation (proof of move or a doctor's note) submitted to the front desk.
Two locker rooms, hot showers, soap, towels, hair dryers. Day-use lockers; you bring your own lock.
Street parking on Foundry Lane is usually open. A pay garage is a three-minute walk on Knickerbocker. Most members come by L train (Jefferson stop, 6-min walk).
Tell your coach during intake. We have coaches certified in corrective work and a referral network of PTs and chiros if it's beyond our scope. We will not pretend to be your doctor.
Level 01 and 02 are no contact and controlled-partner drilling only. Level 03 is light-to-moderate sparring with headgear, by coach approval only. Nobody gets thrown into sparring early.
Strength sessions cap at 14, conditioning at 16, boxing at 10–12 depending on level. Two coaches on the floor for any session over 10.
